On Kipper

There's a bit of a story behind why I picked up a certain manu-patch. And now seems as good a time as any to tell it.

For the past 27 years, the dog in my life has been an Airedale Terrier.
Brutus - 1987-1999.
Hogan. 1999-2011.
Charlie. 2011-Present.

Being an Airedale person, I'm always on the hunt for Airedale things. Calendars. Figures. Anything. Around 2003, I came across a plush airedale online, and immediately got it.
This is Kipper. He's about the size of all 3 of the dogs upon their 8-week old arrival at my place, and is actually wearing Hogan's baby collar. Kipper was also a great listener (and tear absorber) after it came time to say goodbye to Hogan.

So that's why I couldn't resist picking up a Miikka Kiprusoff manu-patch.

  1. Cool dogs! My wife and I have a pug, and one of my favorite collecting finds was a pug tobacco card at a flea market back in the day.

  2. I grew up in a family of airedale lovers. Dagmar, Kelly, and Ruby. No dogs at the moment in my household, but my buddy has an airedal by the name of Frank, and we're BFFs. What a great breed.

    Nice manupatch by the way!

  3. Great post. I love dogs. That's cool that you were able to find a way to bring two things you love together.
