Rangers Roundup

Back to my COMC to-be-posted box again, and here's some Rangers alum.

Definitely an obscure start this time around with Grant Martin. Grant was a member of the 1982 Memorial Cup winning squad. He reached the NHL for parts of 4 seasons with Vancouver and Washington, but never got any cards out of that time. He's rocking Fredericton Express colours on this minor league card.
Much like Martin, Jeremy Morin spent parts of several seasons in the NHL, but since those came in the "every prospect gets a card" era, there are NHL cards of his. For some reason, it was cheaper to get the parallels of the base cards (Gold, Rink Collection) than the regular base versions. Throw in an auto, and he's the big winner in terms of volume.

Of course, there were some "cheap because of epacks" cards in the package.

No surprise that a Canvas insert is the best photograph in the mix. A rare appearance of shadows on an indoor photo.
While Givani Smith has made a couple appearances in the binder with his second year cards, but this looks to be my first from his rookie season. Acetate bonus! Despite only playing half of a season in Kitchener, of course he still counts towards the collection. Interestingly, he only scored one goal this season, but it combined to register a Gordie Howe hat trick in that game.

There you have it!

  1. Whoa. That Skinner is one of the coolest hockey cards I've seen in awhile.
