Another batch of cards from the COMC to be posted box, this time the hoops portion of it is emptied.
Like yesterday, I'm starting with the oldest card in the group. This is so cool. I had no idea that Bob Seger made an appearance as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks! The early 80s were some strange times.
Let's flash forward to the 90s, albeit in 2010s format as the Milwaukee Bucks had a retro uniform night, and Panini chose Ekpe Udoh to model them on a gold standard card.
I love Chronicles! The only beef I had with these is that when they did last year's basketball set, that Classics only made an appearance in retail format. Retail was not making an appearance on this side of the border. This becomes a nice addition in to my small collections of Canadians in the NBA.
With a name like Lucious, you don't think he'd look terrified at any point. You'd be wrong. That's definitely one of the least flattering facial expressions on cardboard.
Please enjoy a cheap pun.
There was no Raptors content left in the box, but this remained. While Mr. Harris looked terrified, Mr. Reed here looks sleepy. That's partially due to the photo being deep in the frame on a thick card, but it looks just as snoozy in hand.
He might not have played a minute in the NBA, but Sir'Dominic Pointer is a definitely a candidate for the all-name team.
Let's end with another autograph. A great fro! Sweet sideburns! And it is a San Diego Conquistadors card! Damn that's a great card. And it brought the Fan Favorites autographs into another sport. Sadly, much like with 2013 Archives football, it was one and done.
There you have it!

Just One Card: Fear The 'fro!
You should, because it is spectacular.
And since the back features a cartoon, why not highlight that as well?
While looking around for more about Mike Gale, I came across this tongue-in-cheek listing of other folks picked 47th in the NBA draft. It is an interesting list that has several of my PC guys, 2/14 baby Tyus Edney, Cancon Todd MacCulloch and former Raptors pick Tyson Wheeler. There are some decent names in that spot as well, such as Vernon Maxwell, Gerald Wilkins, and Paul Millsap.
In the years since that was written, Kevin Murphy (2012, now in Japan), Raul Neto (2013, made his debut this past season in Utah, starting 53 games), Russ Smith (2014, D-League mainly), Arturas Gudiatis (2015, still in Lithuania) and Jake Layman (2016, ???) fell into that spot.
And that is much more than I figured I'd write for this single card.

2015 Adventures in Repacks: Part 36 - And My Best Dollarama Repack Pull
I've been surprised with an onslaught of junk wax in the past from one of these, but I usually get my $2 of fun from them, if not exactly that in book value. But this time, I definitely got past the $2 value mark.
First up, a pack of 1990 Score. It was the Canadian version, so that meant that the two Hartford Whalers cards were likely needs for Shoebox Legends.
Namely, these two.
Is the superstar in this pack the Eberle or the Iginla? When in doubt, vote for the shiny one.
The 80s pack was pretty interesting as well. You've got a Hall of Famer, but the big winner here is the Duguay and the white guy 'fro from 1981 Topps. Ron would outdo himself on the 1983 issue, but this is still pretty great. And it would definitely put me at the $2 worth of fun factor by this one card alone.
But the big card was yet to come. The final item was a pack of 06-07 Parkhurst.
An appearance of an old school Rockies jersey? Nice. An appearance by Rick Middleton? Even nicer!
An on-card autograph of Mike Bossy!?!?
F'n incredible! I knew my repack love would hit paydirt at some point. And boy, did this one ever! I doubt this will ever be topped from a pack at the Dollarama.

Another basketball post. I'm sorry.
I know nobody cares when I do a purely basketball post, based on post views. But, I have to get through this portion of my COMC box at some point, so why not on a Friday evening?
I'm going to start with cards featuring defunct/relocated teams. And to start, here's a card of Scooter McCray. Seriously, I really need more cards in my collection of guys named Scooter. And the auto is definitely in the top half of NBA autographs in terms of legibility.
Much like they did for Ryan Turner of the Rockies and Clemente Nunez of the Marlins, Kevin Pritchard of the Grizzlies got a card based on being the first person signed in the history of the franchise. And much like the two baseball guys, Kevin never played a game with the team, getting cut before the first tip-off.
And to wrap up the defunct teams portion of this trade, here's one I got just for the Kentucky Colonels logo. Although the 'fro is impressive as well.
Here's a new 2/14 card. This is Muresan card #37 for me.
Sure, this appears to be a nice 2-colour jumbo relic of someone who had a pretty good rookie year.
But the real reason I got this card is the back. Any time you can get a CFL reference on a basketball card, it becomes a want for me. And I didn't even make the connection that this Elfrid Payton was the son of that Elfrid Payton was when it was mentioned during a Raptors broadcast.
Speaking of the Raptors, this is a Raptors card:
Sure, it has Jordan on the front, but, as part of a set that was issued for every game Jordan played, this one highlights a Raptors win. And since it was during the Bulls 72-10 season, and the Raptors were a lowly expansion team, this was a pretty memorable Raptors game.
In the sense that I think it is only one of a handful of games from the 90s that get rebroadcast as classics.
The Raptors also did the sleeved jerseys thing last season, but only with their special military-themed uniforms. And they work perfectly with the Dominators design.
And here's a die-cut of Vince Carter to wrap things up.
