Back to the mailbag!
I thought this post would be just be 2/14 stuff. I'd completely forgotten that this card was also included in the mailer. It had been on my Top 10 Wanted list for a bit, so my complete forgetting of it was inexcusable. It's a dude (nick)named Pork Chop. Why wouldn't I want it. I'd rank it over baseball's Pork Chop Pough in terms of greatness, since that guy got several cards. Womack didn't get any beyond this Pacific issue and a parallel. So, yes. Womack > Pough. Now to the 2/14 stuff.
I thought I had perfectly separated the non-hit cards into numbered and non-numbered versions. In one of my usual screw-ups. that Drew Bledsoe was a Stat Line Career parallel, numbered to a delightfully odd 168. Since it was numbered to the number of touchdowns he'd thrown at the time, odd only in terms of comparing to the usual numbering schemes. At least I properly id'd these 6 cards as numbered ones. I was certain I had that Jim Kelly/Drew Bledsoe card already in the collection, and was all set to add it to my Bills binders. Then I took a closer look to realize that it was numbered out of 500, while the one I had was out of 1000. This one is the silver parallel. Outside of that double-up, the nicest is the Astounding blue /299 of Alshon from Illusions. Astounding isn't just an adjective for the card, it is also the insert set's name. Hence the seemingly off capitalization.
Just baseball left!
Nice Clowney. Looks like he's had a solid career. I lost track of him after his time in Seattle. Glad he's still playing.
