A couple value packs from Wally World. The Hoops was marked down, while the recent Prestige was the standard price.I probably should have left the Hoops one behind. It was incredibly bland - although a few base cards had interesting photos. At least we got a pretty nice parallel/team colors match with the parallels and the Teal Explosion. And both inserts have flight themes to them, there was collation oddness too!
I'm stretching things to make me not regret this purchase. I failed miserably.
The Prestige pack is already better, as I did get a Josh Allen base card that I was not fortunate enough to acquire in the group break of a few boxes of the stuff. There was oddball collation here as well, as I did get 3 straight Chiefs card at one point in the pack. Panini is sure getting a lot of mileage out of that Stenerud photo this year - it was also his base card in Score.Stenerud was one of three legends to appear on base cards in the pack. I still think the same thing about Manziel's appearance in these sets as I did when I found him in the Score packs - how dire was the team's history for him to be considered for these?2 of these 4 rookies will be bound for other collectors in future mailers. I appreciate getting a start on upcoming envelopes in this pack. And some inserts. Kelce's appearance makes this even more of a Chiefs hot pack than it was after the three card run earlier in the pack. I also note that the Alma Maters insert I got with the group break was also a Georgia Bulldogs themed one - it included James Cook. I did check, and other universities were covered in this set.
There you have it!
I can think of so many other Browns veterans that I would put in sets before Manziel.
