2/14s from Sportlots

Yesterday, a pile of envelopes showed up courtesy of Sportlots' mailbox figure. A lot of the cards helped me put the final touches on my 2024 Score football set. I even did some damage to my Heritage SP set build. As for the rest of the envelopes, the content was 2/14 stuff, and everything else. I'm covering the first part today.

Since they're generally more challenging to add than major league issues, ultra high end sets notwithstanding, I tend to like minor league sets more. The Cardinals would be renamed the Sand Gnats, and then relocate to Columbia SC in the mid 2010s.

I didn't imagine that Ryan McKenna would even get a card in 2024, considering he didn't get too much action in 2023, and would get even less this past year. I have no complaints about any bonus appearances, though!

He was a rookie - one that had a pretty good start to his MLB career in 2022. Therefore, there's no surprise that he made an appearance in practically every release last year.
But Gabriel Moreno's 4 appearances rule not only the baseball portion, but everything 2/14 in this post. 2023 Update did give the strange possibility of pulling Gabriel Moreno cards on two different teams in the same pack.
Only one basketball entry among all these 2/14s. Naturally, it is a new Rip Hamilton. This is definitely one of the lesser entries in the 1965 Pennant design rip-offs, coming from 2001 Fleer Shoebox. It was one-and-done release.
Naturally, collection king Jim Kelly makes an appearance.
And the Prizm entry will naturally show off the filth of my scanner.
Finally, a trio of Garrards. Is that image re-used on the back to make a third appearance on that Icons card? Of course!

There you have it!
