Today, I'm going through some of the cards I either acquired through e-pack, or acquired cheaply on COMC because of e-pack. It is really a Sisyphusean effort to try and clear out my COMC to-be-posted box.Random Sens acquisition! The Silver parallels out of e-pack might be a gimmicky addition to the flagship rainbows, but at least they've become more scannable over the past several seasons. Or at least less likely to make me feel guilty over having a dirty scanner.
Compendium in 2016-17 has, in retrospect, provided a nice opportunity to land some inexpensive rookie cards.Jordan Szwarz only got 1 other Upper Deck NHL card, getting one and associated parallels in 2013-14 Ultimate. That's probably why I miss Compendium as an e-pack product - the deep checklist.A Rookie might even get an interesting photo for their card. Spencer only got to enter the ice for 4 NHL games, but picked up 2 goals in those games.I picked up one of these for a previous mailer to TMV, but I just had to get one for myself of Zach Hyman rocking the Heritage Classic jersey. There are also Flames options from that game, but it is incredibly bland in comparison.A couple AHL cards. I traded for the Lyon on e-pack due to the mask he's wearing. Pennywise! Sadly, the Tim Curry version isn't on the other side of it. As for the Wolfpack card, I'm not sure. I probably pulled it in a pack and decided I like the logo. The finale is a game-dated moments entry. While I'd rather have a picture of Alex Nedeljkovic firing the puck the length of the ice to complete his 2-point night, but his celebration was pretty memorable as well.
And shouldn't an interesting card make you happy?
But there you have it!
