Mailbag!
My second trip to the mailbag in a week! I'm getting efficient at this! This one arrived from Greg @ Night Owl Cards in the past week.
Set building is a good way to start off a post, and with this, a pair of cards dropped off that list. Last year's Optic had Justin Turner removed from it.
Joining it in the set binders is this SP from this year's Heritage High Numbers.
And here's a random addition to my 2/14 collection.
A Sportflics team card is a perfect way to segue over to the team portion of the mailer.
Here's a scanner bed of Expos that were in the set. There's a couple nice buybacks from '75 and an Andre Dawson gold parallel in the mix. But the big winner here, as can be expected from me, is the hologram. I miss those.
The Stadium Club I've busted this year stands at a super disappointing 'zero'. So, I didn't have a chance to pull cards of either Vlad. Such as this one.
I always love coming bat relics for pitchers. I really don't have a lot of relics in the ol' Expos binder - mainly autos, so these are nice little additions.
If I work horizontally, there was also a scanner bed worth of Mets. That might be one of Mookie's least flattering Mets cards.
More Stadium Club content in terms of parallels. PNC Park looks so nice in sepia.
Nothing too notable among the Blue Jays stuff, although that's going to be one of Marcus Stroman's last cards in Jays gear.
And there you have it! Thanks for these goodies, and I'll be scanning for Dodgers or you for a future mailer.

Mailed Mets
Courtesy of P-Town Tom.
OK. So this isn't the best photographic entry into Mookie's cardboard history, but any chance to start off a post with some Mookie cannot be ignored.
I guess I could have used this Mookie from this grouping of early 80s Mets instead. Maybe I was just leaning towards the first one being just slightly off-center.
Vintage!
There's always room in posts for any sort of 1998 Metal Universe. If you don't want a card that appears to feature a 100ft tall Carlos Baerga using Times Square as a batter's box, then what is wrong with you?
Sportflics! It was McDowell!
I had no idea that there was a Kevin Mitchell starting lineup card with him on the Mets until this showed up. And am thankful for it.
I'm using two cards I was completely unaware of to wrap up this post. I knew of the regular Donruss and the Baseball's Best version. I didn't know about the all-star version until it showed up in the mailer.
And there you have it! Thanks for all these goodies, and don't be surprised if an envelope with some 70's OPC Cubs heading to Peoria in the near future.

Black Friday 2-14 Additions - The Baseball Portion
Back to my COMC "to be posted" box, and this time hitting my 2/14 collection with some baseball additions.
My favourite of the baseball grouping is this card from 2015 Update. It is an image variation card, and is from a game I've mentioned here on the blog before. Derek is celebrating a walk-off grand slam, which followed a golden sombrero. It will be an excellent companion piece to this card I picked up about 9 months back.
Oddballs were also a part of this shipment. Off to 1992 and a card from The Wiz (Nobody Beats Them) and a card commemorating Yankees players from the 1980s.
And a police card of Jaime Cocanower. Also an oddly-shaped card, having more of a 4*2.5 measurements.
Looks like I'll be able to fit one of my favourite players into the 2/14 binder with Mookie Wilson lurking on the other side of this sticker from Jaime.
Heritage is always a great way to wrap up a baseball post.

Perfect Timing
I knew there was a reason I had yet to show off the Jays content from the Too Many Manninghams mailer. Timing.
If it was Sam Dyson pitching at the end, this might have been a better way to lead. Still, I'll admit to never knowing that he was with the Jays at one point, but did recall that Matt Bush was once with them in Spring Training (2009). Sam's time in Toronto was not memorable, as he pitched 2/3 of an inning over two games, and gave up 3 ER over that time.
My 3rd Mookie graph! Awesome! This is my first one of his on Toronto. He's had a few recent entries as a Jay, but all are buybacks from Leaf or from Archives Signature Series.
Here's another post-season Jays hero. The card does have a foil in the background, and it comes off obnoxiously loud in the scan.
There are three Jays alumni that I power collect, and all three of them were in this envelope. More foil backgrounds as well. And the folks at Pinnacle were correct, he was a can't miss prospect, but not as a catcher as was expected.
Back to the hits, here's the other Jays one in the bubbler. Travis seemed to be a perpetual outfielder of the future, but never really clicked. He was traded to the Pirates for Brad Lincoln in 2012.
And the rest of the Jays content!
And now, I just have the 2/14 and Mets content to get to in order to finally wrap up the trade.

PWE Chronicles
Some PWEs showed up over the past week from My BF Collects Chipper Jones. Time to start showing off the scans.
I didn't do much involving last year's Update set, so I still had some empty spaces in my every Blue Jay ever collection from that. I had this Latroy Hawkins that needed to drop. So, here it is! I regret now filing this card away before taking the chance to scan the microscopic font on the back.
While you really wouldn't pick up a card from Heritage when you're looking for interesting photography, this one seems so appropriate for a Bartolo Colon card.
Two people who I completely forget were Mets. Brent Mayne spent 1996 with the Mets. McCray's time there was even shorter. 1 at-bat. Over 18 games. But he made the most of that at-bat, adding his first and only RBI over his career. He's probably more famous as "That guy who ran through the outfield wall." while in the minors for the White Sox.
Mookie!
This one was sitting on my zistle wantlist for a bit, since I'm amused by a photo of a guy who is named Shave, but doesn't look old enough to.
2/14 content! And those first two Len Gabrielsons wrap up his Topps solo card run, leaving only his floating head 1963 issue. For Cocanower, that's his last regular set card to finish his run, only leaving Tiffany and Update issues. Vintage is always a fun way to end a post!
Thanks for these goodies!
