2015 Adventures in Repacks: Part 48: It Was New to Me!

After his royal majesty, Sir Dog, put his teeth through his football, I had to get a replacement. I hit the Toys 'r' Us in search of one. Naturally, I also visited the card area on the off chance that there would be a chance at a purple bordered baseball parallel.

There wasn't.

But there was a different type of repack for me. For $4, it was 50 cards, an unopened pack and some supplies. Cheap enough to take a risk with. I went for the one with the most interesting visible card, and that included five hard toploaders and a pack of 13-14 Score.

Starting with the cards.
2013 Upper Deck Edmonton Oilers - Robert Nilsson - I chose this repack for this card, simply because I don't have too many cards from this set.
1992 Upper Deck - Bret Hedican
1989 O-Pee-Chee - Marc Fortier
2009 O-Pee-Chee - Denis Grebeshkov
1992 Topps - Paul Fenton
1990 Pro Set - Roger Johansson
1991 Upper Deck - Dale Hawerchuk - A nice patriotic card of a HOFer.
2014 Upper Deck - Dwight King - The most recent card in the pack, and one of the two top photo choices.
1996 Skybox Impact - Jere Lehtinen - Somewhat of an oddball card, at least in terms of seeing it in a repack.
1995 Upper Deck - Nikolai Khabibulin - A nice mask binder card.
1991 Score Curtis Leschysyn
1999 Upper Deck - Jeff Friesen
1989 O-Pee-Chee - Mike Gartner
1997 Donruss - Janne Niinimaa - I always confuse this guy with Jan Nemecek when hunting for 2/14 cards of the latter. That makes no sense, since Janne has about 200 different cards and Jan has less than 10.
1993 Premier - Tommy Soderstrom
1995 Topps - Dale Hawerchuk - A Hawerchuk hot pack!
1991 Pro Set - Perry Anderson
1991 Topps - Brian Bellows - A Kitchener Rangers alum!
2009 Upper Deck - Nicklas Backstrom
1990 Pro Set - Adam Creighton
1990 Score - Kevin Stevens
1995 Parkhurst Emerald - Viacheslav Fetisov - It isn't just Dollarama repacks that have these parallels, although both repacks are by the same company.
1991 O-Pee-Chee Russians - Igor Kravchuk
1990 Topps - Daniel Berthiaume
2014 O-Pee-Chee - Boone Jenner - At the halfway mark.
2013 Upper Deck Edmonton Oilers - Craig Simpson
1992 Upper Deck - Danny Felsner
1989 O-Pee-Chee - Robert Picard - Notice something in terms of a pattern? The first 25 card sets featured are repeating. Sometimes, even the numbers are sequential. Fortier was #262. Picard is #261.
2009 O-Pee-Chee - Steve Montador
1992 Topps - Mike Hudson
1990 Pro Set - Ric Nattress
1991 Upper Deck - Paul Coffey - Another Rangers alum!
2014 Upper Deck - Logan Couture
1996 Skybox Impact - Ian Moran - Just a bit of peeling.
1995 Upper Deck - Roman Hamrlik
1991 Score - Troy Murray
1998 SPX - Keith Primeau - The only deviation from the repeating order.
1989 O-Pee-Chee - Andy Brickley - He's the cousin of current Young Gun #249 Connor Brickley.
1997 Donruss - Ray Sheppard - A potential penalty for interference on the  photo is the other really interesting photo in the repack.
1993 Premier - Rob Blake
1995 Topps - Miroslav Satan - WOW! A rookie card of Satan!
1991 Pro Set - Bob McGill
1991 Topps - Mark Hunter
2009 Upper Deck - Chris Stewart
1990 Pro Set - Jeff Jackson
1990 Score - Gerard Gallant
1995 Parkhurst Emerald - Viacheslav Fetisov - A card so nice, I got it twice!
1991 O-Pee-Chee Russians - Andrei Kovalenko
1990 Topps - Petr Svoboda - A 2/14 card, but unfortunately, a dupe.
2014 O-Pee-Chee - Ray Whitney - And that's 50.

I wasn't too crazy about the repeating sets, but other than that, no complaints about this portion.

As for the Score pack,
A pair of gold parallels and a mask binder photo. Could have done worse.

And that's a perfectly acceptable way to blow $4.
