2021 Adventures in Repacks Part 42.3 - Cubism

Moving through the halfway point.
2019 Prizm - Tyler Johnson - Not the most exciting start.
1991 Front Row - Chad Gallagher - Chad was a second round pick of the Suns. Total NBA time? 3 minutes more than I.
2005 Hardcourt - Andre Iguodala
1999 Mystique - Billy Owens - A shiny card with a higher end feel to it.
2000 Hardcourt - Jason Williams
2019 Hoops - Iman Shumpert
2013 Select Swatches - Amar'e Stoudemire - The first hit of the repack!
2016 Preferred Crazy Eights - Charlotte Hornets - As seen on Sunday.
2017 Essentials Red - Jeff Teague - Another unnumbered parallel.
2019 Hoops - KZ Okpala
2000 Victory - Derrick Coleman
1993 Topps Gold - Karl Malone - Yet another parallel. I didn't even notice it was the parallel until I started typing up this list.
2019 Prizm - Mikal Bridges
1989 Hoops - Dennis Hopson
2000 Hardcourt - Chris Webber - Another Ann Arbor bound card.
2019 Hoops - Rudy Gay
2016 Donruss - Draymond Green
1992 Archives - John Salley - Archives!
1991 Fleer - Charles Thomas - This was Thomas' only NBA card. At least he got a really nice photo for it.
2019 Hoops - Jahlil Okafor
2004 Topps - Antawn Jamison
2019 Prizm - Bruce Brown
2000 Hardcourt - Damon Stoudamire
2019 Hoops - Troy Brown Jr
2016 Donruss - Bradley Beal - Dueling alternates! Brown wins, since his doesn't look like a onesie.
1992 Archives - Jay Humphries - More Archives!
1999 Mystique - Mario Elie
2005 UD - Keyon Dooling - The 'derp face' card of the repack.
1993 UD - Derek Strong
2013 Panini - Josh Smith
1992 Archives - Kenny Anderson
1991 Fleer - Darrell Walker - 1991 was probably the design I was most interested in seeing, since I wondered how the text of the team name would look. The answer? Generic.
2019 Hoops - Mitchell Robinson
1993 Topps - Chris Gatling
2002 MVP - Joe Johnson

1988 Fleer - Joe Kleine - The oldest card in this.
2019 Prizm - Kevin Looney
1989 Fleer - Mark Price
2000 Hardcourt - Rashard Lewis
2019 Donruss - Evan Fournier
2013 Panini - Thomas Robinson
1992 Archives - Glenn Rivers - One last Archives appearance! But Glenn? And not 'Doc'?
1989 Fleer - Jeff Hornacek - Start with a rather dull Suns card - end with one.  Repack synchronicity.

2021 Adventures in Repacks Part 42.2 - Cubism

Another 45ish cards.
1999 WNBA - Rachael Sporn - A WNBA start to this group. That's always an interesting surprise.
2019 Prizm - Frank Ntilikina
1989 Hoops - Ron Harper
2006 Topps - Quincy Douby
1990 Fleer - Eddie Johnson - I always feel like I need to point that this is not the Eddie Johnson that died in prison last year while serving a life sentence for a horrific crime.
2000 MVP - Rashard Lewis
2019 Contenders - Tobias Harris

2001 Legacy - Sam Cassell - I could have lived a long time without finding a card with a close-up of Sam Cassell's face.
1990 Skybox - Willie Burton
2019 Donruss - Taurean Prince - Does this photo look like the card was left in the sun?
1999 UD - Antoine Walker
1993 UD - Luc Longley
1992 Archives - Ken Norman - If any set is meant for moving over to basketball, 1987 Topps would be the one.
1991 Front Row - Brian Shaw
2007 Topps - Shaun Livingston
2006 Hot Prospects - Raymond Felton
2013 Hoops - Jason Richardson
1989 Hoops - Jim Lynam
2005 Hardcourt - Ray Allen - If you want a more direct wooden release, here you are!
2019 Prizm - Justin Jackson
1989 Hoops - Rod Higgins
2004 Chrome - Kerry Kittles
2007 Bowman - Zach Randolph
2019 Contenders - Tim Hardaway Jr. - A second Ann Arbor bound card.
1990 Skybox - Dennis Scott
2019 Donruss - Thon Maker
2014 Hoops - Wesley Johnson
1990 Fleer - Derek Smith
2004 Topps Black /500 - Zach Randolph - While there have been parallels, this was the only numbered one in the repack.
2015 Complete - Festus Ezili
2019 Hoops Winter - Harry Giles - Speaking of parallels.
2001 UD Flight Team - Mike Miller
1995 Hoops # Crunchers - Nick Van Exel - Mid 90s hideousness!
1992 Archives - Derek Harper - More archives!
2002 Finest - Latrell Sprewell
2019 Prizm - Andre Iguodala
2000 Hardcourt - Gary Payton - Different year of hardcourt - same team as before!
2016 Optic - Joel Embiid
1990 Fleer - Mike Gminski
1992 Archives - Vlade Divac - And even more!
1989 Hoops - Eric Leckner
2015 Complete - Zach Lavine
2000 Victory - Sean Elliott\
1993 Topps - Tim Hardaway - There was a Hardway Jr earlier, so this one perfectly ends on the Sr version.

2021 Adventures in Repacks Part 42.1 - Cubism

What shared the cube with that booklet card I posted yesterday? Let's see the first fifth!
2019 Contenders - Caris LaVert - First up - a base card eventually bound for Ann Arbor.
1992 Archives - Danny Ainge - There were a lot of these in here, with players given designs from their rookie year in the corresponding baseball design. I'll probably scan 'em all!
1991 Fleer - Rick Fox
2019 Hoops Winter - John Henson - A rather seasonal variant.
1992 UD International (Italian) - Manute Bol - There are players that it is always fun to pull a card of. Manute Bol certainly qualifies.
2001 UD Flight Team - Antoine Walker
1992 Fleer - Terry Davis
2019 Prizm - Jahlil Okafor - Another set that makes several appearances. An OK design - the team colours at the top are nice, but not the waves? in the corners of the image.
1989 Hoops - Mark West
1990 Fleer - Danny Ainge
2002 Finest - Robert Horry - The back of this card mentions a game from 2/14, so of course this totally goes in the 2/14 binder, but doesn't count towards the total. My binders. My rules.
2015 Complete - Josh Smith
2019 Hoops - Landry Shamet
1992 Archives - Kendall Gill - Much like in 1990, when the colours of the border just happened to match up with the team colours - the card was even better.
2019 Hoops Winter - Rodions Kurucs
2001 Fleer Greats - John Thompson - Coach card! And a legendary one as well!
2001 UD Flight Team - Courtney Alexander
1991 Hoops - Bill Laimbeer
2018 Chronicles - Wesley Matthews
2002 Finest - Joe Johnson
2019 Prizm - Alfonzo McKinnie
2013 Hoops - Matt Barnes
2000 Finest - Isaiah Rider
1992 Archives - Thurl Bailey - While it is another Archives appearance, don't overlook the greatness of those Bullets shorts.
1991 Fleer - John Bagley
2019 Hoops Winter - Willie Cauley-Stein - Alternate uni!
2015 Complete - Gerald Green
2001 UD Flight Team - Andre Miller
1994 Hoops - Tony Dumas - There's probably a reason that dunks aren't shown on cards from this angle very often - the player looks as ungraceful as possible.
1989 Hoops - Jeff Hornacek
2002 Finest - Jamal Mashburn
1990 Fleer - Ron Anderson
2013 Panini - Marcin Gortat
1992 Archives - Cliff Robinson - Keep the Archives coming!
2019 Hoops - Seth Curry
2001 UD Flight Team - Aaron McKie - This set made quite a few appearances early on in this - I like that even if the player is shooting a basic jumper, none of the photos have the player's feet touching the ground.
1995 Coll. Choice - Ken Norman
2015 Prizm - Richard Hamilton - Unlike with the Horry, there's no doubt about this one's 2/14 content. Surprisingly, this one is not a dupe, even though I do have a parallel or two of this.
2006 Hot Prospects - Darko Milicic
2013 Prestige - Tyler Zeller
2015 Complete - Amar'e Stoudemire
1998 Showcase - Terrell Brandon
1998 Showcase - Isaac Austin - Interestingly, two cards from the same set right beside each other, but because of the oddness of the Showcase release, there's two completely different designs. I think the Row 2 Austin is rarer.
2015 Complete - Thomas Robinson
2001 UD Flight Team - Latrell Sprewell
1993 UD International (Italian) - Rik Smits - Learn some Italian as the first batch ends.

Perfectly acceptable start, especially with several appearances of a fun set like Archives. That John Thompson was a pretty nice card as  well.

The Unexpected

I'm going to be starting a new cubism basketball repack on Monday, but there was something in this one that deserved a post of its own.

Generally in these, the location of the relic hit(s) is obvious, just look for the thicker card(s). But the type or set it is from isn't. But this time, there was one that defied those rules.
Since only a very specific group of hits have spines.
Which contains eight relics for the price of one.

The only problem is that because of this card, there were slightly fewer than 250 cards in the cube. I guess 'packs with a special insert may contain fewer cards' also applies to repacks.

This is Offending One-Celled Animals

Yeah, I finally gave in and added the beyond-cringeworthy card of Chief Powa Hitta into my collection.

What in the Ever-loving Fuck, late 70s Richmond Braves? I'm not even getting into the stoner qualities of Seymour Baseball.

And short of getting my hands on that Walker Brothers card, this will be the most racist card in my collection.

Cleanse your soul with my first CFL Brandon Banks autograph, replacing his Washington...Football Team autographs in my Tiger-Cats collection.

A SENSational start?

While the games started last night, the season doesn't really start until your favourite team plays their first game that counts. For the Senators, that's tonight. So here's some "cheap 'cause of e-packs" Sens stuff.

If this were baseball, Hogberg would be a AAAA guy. Probably too good for minors, but not quite good enough to take someone's spot on the big club. As such, he was back-and-forth between the NHL and the AHL for a few seasons. And Compendium provided his only NHL card, but he did get a Topps Now sticker last year. He's since returned to Europe. But at least I have this for my every-Senator-ever collection.

Unlike with the Daccord I posted on the weekend, they didn't lose the French translations for these cards.

See! Here they are!

You'd think a set named 'Number Crunchers' would use a more obscure stat than 'Points' for its number. Why not Corsis?
On the day he signed a long-term deal, I better show off some Brady.

If a 20-21 release doesn't have a lot of Tim Stutzle in it, it will have a lot of Josh Norris in it. Such as these numbered, but still really cheap, entries from Synergy.
Casey Bailey went to the Senators as part of the Phaneuf trade, and managed 7 games with Ottawa. But he's just perfect for an AHL auto.
The Senators have put off calling Sokolov to the roster at this point, but he's probably the guy in the minors that fans are most excited about seeing in Ottawa at some point. It is hard to be patient, but I'll trust the process.

And there you have it!
