300 posts? Might as well bust some repacks to celebrate!

I didn't really notice I was closing in on the milestone until a couple days ago. So, time to swing past the Dollarama and get one of each type of hockey repack. One 15 card pack. One Surprise Box. Time to dig in.

Starting with the Surprise Box.

1st up, and 8 card pack of cards without any theme.
1996-97 Swedish Semic Wien - Radek Belohlav

1995-96 Pinnacle - Ray Bourque
2007-08 Parkhurst - Rod Gilbert
1997-98 Upper Deck - Adam Deadmarsh
1990-91 Pro Set - Dave Poulin
1991-92 Topps - Tom Fitzgerald
1996-97 Collector's Choice - Bryan Marchment
2011-12 Upper Deck - Keith Yandle

There's definitely a great variety in this one. Usually, a Ray Bourque card that I didn't have would easily be enough to take this portion of the repack. However, a card from an oddball Swedish set that I had to search for on zistle to find out the origin of. A card of a player I'd never heard of from a set I'd never heard of? WINNER!

Item #2, a pack of 2009-10 OPC.
Kristian Huselius, Patrick Lalime, Matt Beleskey, Adam Foote, Mike Knuble, Loui Eriksson.

Marvin the Martian is the winner here!

Item #3 was an item I hadn't seen before.
I'm guessing that rookie card will  be that coveted 1991-92 Pro Set of Mark Osiecki I've always coveted.

2009-10 Upper Deck - Dennis Wideman
2008-09 Upper Deck - Duncan Keith
2011-12 Upper Deck - Evander Kane

At least the non-rookies aren't from the junk wax era. As for the rookie?
2012-13 O-Pee-Chee - Gabriel Dumont. Not the best, but it was better than expected.

And finally, the 4th item was a Superstar pack.
1994-95 Parkhurst Sean Hill
2011-12 Upper Deck - Chris Drury
2011-12 SPX - Alex Ovechkin
1991-92 Pro Set - Troy Murray
1995-96 Donruss - Craig Conroy

Ovechkin is the guaranteed Superstar, obviously. But a new Sean Hill for the 2/14 binder wins this portion of the repack. The best thing about these are the randomness of everything, and this one definitely brought that.

Off to the 15 cards for $1.00 pack.

Here's what was visible:
2007-08 OPC - Christoph Schubert
2008-09 Collector's Choice - Daniel Carcillo

Schubert was my reasoning for picking this pack as he was a need for my Senators Frankenset. I'm amused by a set that is intended for a younger market would have a card that salutes Carcillo's skill in accumulating PIM.

1991-92 Pro Set - Pierre Turgeon
1990-91 Score - Todd Krygier
Darned if I know what set this is from.  The back is blank. It is a sticker, but it is the same size as a typical hockey card. Someone has to be able to put a source for this. Right?

Edit: I don't think it took a quarter of an hour from posting this before it was sourced. Check the comments, and thanks to dogfacedgremlin!

1994-95 Pinnacle - Rod Brind'Amour
1995-96 Score - Brad May.

I've been posting a few from this set recently. Maybe I should look through some images of the set to see if there are other interesting cards worth grabbing from sportlots.

1994-95 Fleer - Joe Neiuwendyk.

2001-02 Parkhurst - Glen Murray.
1989-90 Topps - Bernie Federko
1995-96 Stadium Club - Bill Ranford
1991-92 Arena Holograms Peter Forsberg.

Thanks, repack! I need more WTF in my diet!

1990-91 Upper Deck - Bernie Federko (It's a Federko hot pack!)
1991-92 Score - Doug Weight
1990-91 Bowman - Dan Quinn

Getting a need for a set gives this pack to the Schubert, although the Forsberg is a tempting option. As a bonus, despite the English front, the back of it is in French.

  1. On that mask sticker...they were manufactured by a company called Cal Print Graphics (CPG) in 1996 and sold regionally in blister packs along with a team logo sticker. They were called Prism Stickers or something of that nature. As you can see, it was back when the NHL would license anything.

    1. And there we go. I knew it wouldn't take long. Google images makes them look like something you'd pull from one of those card vending machines.

    2. I have a bunch of those mask stickers. They were available in a gashapon-like vending machine in the bowling alley I worked in in 96. In the UK. I do like them though
