2016 Adventures in Repacks: Part 18 - Dollarama Two Step

One 15 card hanger. One Surprise bag. But do I get $3 worth of enjoyment?

Starting with the hanger:
2014-15 Ice Sidney Crosby - This card was visible. An easy choice to pick this particular repack.
1990 Score Rod Langway
1992 Premier Ray Bourque - Throwback uniform!
2002 OPC - Dany Heatley - Not the most popular Sens alum, but I can appreciate the nice photo.
1991 OPC - Stephane Morin
1990 Bowman - Darren Turcotte
1994 Score - Dimitri Khristich - A very 90s design both front and back, but the photo on the back is pretty unique for cards.
1996 Bowman - Lance Ward - Chrome-y!
1991 UD - Pierre Sevigny
1998 Pacific Paramount - Arturs Irbe - I'd completely blanked on Irbe spending a season in Vancouver.
1991 Score - Tony Hrkac
2003 Rookie Update - Olli Jokinen
1991 7th Inning Sketch - Kelly Harris - Random WHL card!
1990 Pro Set - Joey Kocur
2011 Score - Ben Holmstrom - And the other visible card is a slightly SPd rookie card. Pretty good pack based on the visible cards alone, and the Bourque and Khristich were just bonuses.

Off to the Surprise Bag, which had a pack of 07-08 Victory, as well as Superstar, 2010s and Rookie repack packs.
Since I've completed the base set, aside from one card on the way, the best I can hope for is an insert I needed. This SotG card was a needed insert.
I guess Sam Gagner is the Superstar promised. Or maybe Doug Weight. When you're guessing as to who the major name is in the pack, there's a problem. Still, the Biron will be a nice addition to my masks binder.
The promised rookie, Royer, played 18 games with Chicago and never registered a point. He did spend 67 minutes of those 18 games in the penalty box. Like before, the great mask card of Jimmy Howard and his octopus is the best part of this group.
The 2010s pack was probably the best for keeper cards, going 3 for 3 as I added two more mask cards, and a really nice look at the Winter Classic patch.

And there you have it!

  1. That's some pretty good stuff there but that Crosby is fantastic. I'm a huge fan of those UD Ice cards.

  2. I had completely forgotten that Irbe played in Vancouver as well!
