But wait! There's more!

I also picked up some misc. boxes to break alongside the Champ's. There were a pair of boxes of 2010 Zenith sent my way as well. As well as a pair of Between the Pipes boxes also from 2010. I'll start with the Zenith, and then take a break from hobby boxes for some posts before getting into the BTP.
These are the base cards. If you pull a card with a Flying V jersey on it, it is always a good choice to show that one off.
There's one base parallel per box, and in this box, it was this Red Hot featuring Ray Bourque. There are some oddball team choices in the veterans portion of the set (Cam Neely as a Canuck, Ed Belfour on the Sharks), so I'm surprised he's not with Colorado on this card.
There's usually one rookie base card /999 in a box as well. At least I hit a Sens card!
Each box comes with a "Dare to Tear" jumbo card. It has a card inside the back of it, much like Ginter rip cards. Do you rip it open or keep the box topper as is?
Or do you gently cut it with an exacto knife, and slide the card out? I chose that option, and still have a pretty nice jumbo card (You can see the cut just to the left of the PIM stat.
And I land a rookie /199 of someone still in the league! He had a half-season with Ottawa last season, signed with Chicago, and was traded to Boston at the trade deadline.
The inserts. Mozaics move over from other non-hockey Zenith releases, as does Z Team. That insert the big winner here, with Iginla rocking the Heritage Classic jerseys.

Hit time!
I'd be happy to add a new Milan Hejduk to my 2/14 collection, but this one is a dupe. Winter Warriors is probably the most common of the Zenith inserts.
Finally, the auto. It is on-card, and does look pretty nice with the design. Barch is retired and now works in the Buffalo organization, but he did have an eight-year career in the NHL, and doesn't have too many autos on the market. Glass half full!

One box of Zenith down, one more to go!

The Champ's Is Here! - Box 10

Ending not with a bang but a whimper, but that's mainly because I'm migrained right now and doped up on codeine. But, I wanted 10 boxes in 10 days, so here goes nothing.

#10-8:
Another three relics - but all three were dupes. At least I've got a trade partner in mind for the Larkin.

#7:
The fish card needed to finish that portion of that set.

#6-2:
And the last 5 cards needed for the base set.

#1:
And the final auto of the box. Cody was claimed by Vegas in the expansion draft, and played the full season there.

There's a case worth of Champ's. With the complete set, I can't really see myself busting another box, but this was really fun to tear into.

The Champ's Is Here! - Box 9

Another box.

#10:
Opening this box, I needed two fish to complete that subset, and knocked one of the two off with this one.

#9:
Drool...

#8:
Anothe box with 3 relics as opposed to two relics, and this one was the only dupe.

#7:
A 2/14 parallel card for that collection. This card wasn't centered as badly as it seems with this scan, I just hosed up the cropping of the image.

#6:
Relic #2. The top of the bottom half is about as high as I'll go for a plain white swatch.

#5:
Another one-colour swatch to start off the second half, but this one is in the team colours.

#4:
A decent enough autograph. Janmark's wrapping up his second season in the league, after missing all of 16-17 with an injury.

#3:
A 2-14 high-numbered short-print! It was really nice to knock this one off the wantlist.

#2:
But nice as that is, another high number card dropping off the list is even nicer, especially when it features the classic Nordiques blue.

#1:
This is from the 'rare stars' portion of the set. These fall at a rate of 1:1200 packs, or 1:6 cases. I'd pulled one of these before, and it was also the Gretzky rare stars card. I'd put the first one up on COMC and got just under $115.00 for it, so I'll very likely be doing the same this time to recover some of the cost of the case.

One box left to go!

The Champ's Is Here! - Box 8

Yesterday, I called this the most consistent of the 10 boxes. Today, you see why.
As a hint, these were cards that didn't make the top 10.

#10:
All 3 of the fish cards in this box were needs for that subset, so I just grabbed the first one that was on the pile for inclusion in this post.

#9:
Another indication of the strength of this box is that one of hits only reaches #9.

#8:
This parallel card should be higher, but it was one that gets knocked down lower by the fact I really never planned on keeping this. This one of maybe 3 or 4 cards that were immediately in my "off to COMC" pile, with several others making appearances as dupes.

#7:
Another relic that should be higher, especially with it being the alternate jersey.

#6:
Not really surprising that the Northern Lights card would be the most colourful of the entries into the Northern Wonders series.

#5:
This was one of two cards in the set that I was glad I didn't need to purchase.

#4:
While the Larkin was the more expensive option for the base set card I didn't want to buy, this one does have have the classic Winnipeg Jets logo to elevate it.

#3:
The autograph in the box. Mike's been back-and-forth over the past few years between the AHL and the parent club.

#2:
My final silver /25 parallel in the case was this Steve Mason. A Kitchener Rangers alum!

#1:
The best way to wrap up a 2015-16 box break is with a Connor McDavid card, and this is my first hit of his. Even his one-colour rookie swatches go for a a decent amount, but I think I'll be hanging on to this one. Interestingly, I didn't get the McDavid #315 base card in this box, which I was a magnet for when only busting one or two boxes at a time. So, this was his only appearance for me in this break.

And there you have it.

The Champ's Is Here! - Box 7

Lucky #7?

#10:
I really haven't gone too crazy posting the Senators content in this case, so I'll try and break that pattern with this box, starting with a base short-print. Set dupe, but not a Sens-collection dupe.

#9:
The dupes continue with this post, but Northern Wonders are always worth showing off.

#8:
This box also had three relics in it and this one was probably the blandest of the group. He's only had 8 games of NHL, and has spent the past two seasons in the AHL.

#7:
A Leafs relic when I'm trying to do a Sens-themed post. Oops.

#6:
The Fiala is this box's version of the "card I'm glad I don't need to get off of COMC". While it is under $1 there, it is still nice to slip a card into an empty binder spt.

#5:
The second of the Sens of this post. A gold back parallel and Turris rocking the alternates? That's keeper material.

#4:
This is probably the biggest name relic I landed from the veteran portion of the set. These are listed separately from the rookies on the pack odds. Strangely, these are 1:30, and it was those I landed two of in this 20 pack box.

#3:
Like the #1 draft picks, the Conn Smythe winners also show up once per case. I easily prefer this to the draft picks set, but just for the appearance of the trophy.

#2:
The second time a Bret Hart card has ended up in the #2 spot on one of these lists. It would be #1...

#1:
But it will not knock a Sens autograph out of the top position.

Box #8 tomorrow, and the 8th was probably the most consistent box of the case, and picking the top 10 was the most challenging of the case.

The Champ's Is Here! - Box 6

The case continues!

#10:
Lobster rolls give this post a tasty start. This is also the only non-hockey card in this post.

#9:
This should be a little low for one of the relics in the box, but this was a dupe, and the one I had previously was a two colour (black/gold) swatch.

#8:
Again, this should be higher, but it is another dupe. The tradition is his talking to his goalposts.

#7:
Another silver parallel, and he's still active in the league. Always a plus!

#6:
The obligatory SP I'm glad I didn't have to purchase.

#5:
The second relic.

#4:
A Kitchener Rangers alumni in gold front format.

#3:
My favourite relic of this box is a pretty good one, and the swatch is from the secondary blue portion of the jersey. That's different enough to put it this high on the countdown.

#2:
That 70's line makes an appearance on the promised auto.

#1:
My Springsteen fandom makes me place this Pavelec in the #1 spot, based on the paint job on his mask. While I do prefer the other side of the mask (which also features the Big Man) but this is still pretty nice.

And there you have it!
